"I just wanted to re-live those
summer nights in the 60's when you got your best girl, hopped in your hot
rod, and headed for
downtown" That's why Craig
Parrish started downtown Lansng's Cruisin' the Gut in 2001 Since
then attendance has exploded as classic car owners from all over the
Midwest cruise to Lansing to re-live the past. "Its like a big
reunion here" says Lansing's Gary Glenn, who reminisced in front of the
former Michigan Theatre, sitting behind his 1962 Lincoln.
Cruisin' the Gut features classic autos
displayed along Washington Avenue starting at 4 pm on each cruise date.
At 8 pm classic cars will begin to cruise the downtown area just like they
did in the 1960's Spectators can expect as many as 100 cars during
good weather cruises. Cruises are held 3 times a year in June, July
and September.
